To be slightly fair to the beancounters, the III & 4 series LaserJets
were hugely overengineered: there's a (possibly apocryphal) tale of an
HP beancounter dragging the engineers into a meeting, standing on an
LJ 4 and jumping up and down on it, before pointing out that their
customers were paying them to make laser printers, not footstools.
