Subject: [OxLUG] Ubuntu grey screen





Hi all!

I have for a while now been having problems with my Ubuntu 8.04 desktop
freezing and greying out for quite a few seconds at a time on several
app's. I notice that the HDD is going mad whilst this is happening but
I have no idea what's going on or why, maybe someone could shed some
light on this for me?
