I've completely forgotten how to change the name of a computer.
My wife is inheriting my desktop as I have now gone over completely to a
laptop (which I can look at and type upon whilst ensconced in a
reclining chair, my back injuries have deteriorated to such an extent
that I can no longer sit at a desk to do 'pooting!)
So the name "malcolm-desktop" needs to be changed to something more
appropriate ... but I can't remember how after poking around at a number
of /etc text files nothing looked right.
Growing old has no advantages at all as far as I can see - my memory is
definitely deteriorating :-(
