There are three excellent events coming up over the next week - please
support them if you can!

Firstly, on Tuesday, the UK Unix User Group is running an E-Business
Conference at the Brewery in London. The conference addresses some of the
technologies that can help to make electronic commerce successful. The
programme has a strong technical content and includes speakers from Nortel
Networks and Carlyle Media Group and topics such as IP telephony, future
firewalls, Macromedia Flash, XML/Web enabled publishing and the
implications of the E-Commerce Bill.

There are limited numbers of discounted and possibly free places.
Contact office@ukuug.org ASAP if you're interested in attending.

On Tuesday evening, Steve Clarke from Planet Online will talk to Oxford
University Computer Society about Internet Service Provider trends and
technologies, including the story of free internet access, the role played
by Linux and the potential of ADSL. Members of the OxLUG mailing list are
invited to this event.

>From Freeserve to Broadband Internet - 2nd November, Comlab, 8.30pm

And finally Adrian Cox of AG Electronics will demonstrate to OxLUG a
cluster of PowerPC Linux workstations in a single desktop box and describe
the system architecture. The talk will cover the PowerPC G4, high speed
networking, and the importance of blinkenlights.

Sunday 7th November, 6.30pm, probably Comlab.
