The postponed Smoothwall talk by Richard Morrell should be going ahead
on Sunday. Smoothwall is an easy-to-install firewall (free) product -
effectively a heavily-customised Linux distribution - which
grew out of a project started by another Linux User Group in the UK
a year or so ago. It's a big success and hundreds of thousands of
copies have been distributed around the world.
6.30pm, Comlab. Links to maps at www.oxlug.org.
Assuming the weather is good, we'll have a Picnic in the Parks
beforehand. Meet at the entrance to the University Parks
(on the other side of the road from Comlab) about 4.30pm.
Finally, tomorrow (Friday 1st June) is the last day to book
at the cheap rate for this year's Linux Developers'
conference in Manchester from 29th June to 1st July.

Amongst other attractions, it's likely to include a demonstration of
The Baby (the world's first stored-program electronic digital computer)
on the Friday evening, and plenty of opportunity to mingle with other
Linux enthusiasts and meet some core developers.
The cost if you book on Friday is 30 pounds plus the UKUUG membership fee
if you're not yet a member. (Oxford University students/staff are
already covered by an academic membership.)
