More weirdness: I don't actually need this option at all. Just the
modeline specified in the Monitor section. The same modeline that X is
getting from the monitor directly & then rejecting as unsuitable!

I think that counts as a bug...

(Should anyone care, the modeline in question is as follows:

        Mode    "1920x1200R"     # vfreq 59.950Hz, hfreq 74.038kHz
                DotClock        154.000000
                HTimings        1920 1968 2000 2080
                VTimings        1200 1203 1209 1235
                Flags   "-HSync" "+VSync"
        EndMode


which is exactly the same as that produced by "cvt -r 1920 1200")
