Hi!
The next talk for OxLUG will take place on August 6th at 18:30 in the
Oxford University Computer Laboratory. The talk is titled:
---
"Megabyte, Megapixel, MIPS -- The First Commercial Workstations"
in which Tony Duell will introduce us to several technologies that we
may well have heard of but have little experience with or knowledge of
their interesting history.
Tony is a collector of various hardware and has a substantial collection
of some vary varied kit - most of it older than I am :)
Prior knowledge of flip flops, gates and other logic would be useful but
not essential.
---
This meeting will be preceeded by a picnic in the University Parks
(Parks Road) opposite the Computer Lab, from about 16:30 onwards. Please
bring your own food along and join us.
The meeting will (as always), be followed by drinks at the Lamb and
Flag.
---
Forthcoming talks:
September: Samba - introduction and configuration.
(speaker and location to be announced).
---
Jonathan.
