Our talk this Sunday is entitled "Putting Linux to Work", and will cover the following topics:
- Installing new software and keeping your installation secure - Configuration/Management - Tweaking the GUI - System management - Printing - Where to get help - General Q&A session
The following Sunday (the 9th) will be "Linux - Under the bonnet", covering the following topics:
- Navigating the filesystem - The UNIX Security model - Firewalling - General Q&A session
Anyone just getting started with Linux is encouraged to come along to either or both of these talks, whether you attended the Install fest or not. We will be making handouts and also posting these on the OxLUG website before or shortly after the talks, so if you can't make it do have a look at them instead.
